The Human SCD163 (Soluble Cluster of Differentiation 163) ELISA Kit is a highly sensitive and specific assay designed for the quantitative measurement of SCD163 in human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. SCD163 is a soluble scavenger receptor that is expressed on the surface of macrophages and is involved in the clearance of hemoglobin-haptoglobin complexes. Elevated levels of SCD163 have been associated with various inflammatory diseases, including sepsis, rheumatoid arthritis, and systemic lupus erythematosus.
The ELISA kit utilizes a sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay format, in which a monoclonal antibody specific to human SCD163 is coated onto a microplate. Samples are added to the wells, and any SCD163 present in the sample binds to the immobilized antibody. A biotinylated monoclonal antibody specific to a different epitope on SCD163 is then added, followed by the addition of streptavidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase. The resulting complex is detected by the addition of a chromogenic substrate, and the absorbance is measured at 450 nm.
The Human SCD163 ELISA Kit is a reliable and accurate tool for the detection and quantification of SCD163 in human samples. The kit has a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/mL, with a sensitivity of 0.078 ng/mL. The assay is easy to perform, with a total assay time of approximately 3 hours. The kit includes all necessary reagents and controls, and has been validated for use with a variety of sample types, including serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants.
