The increase in cell densities obtained with GroMax™ Baffled Deepwell Microplate to those generated in traditional block plate designs translates into increased recombinant protein production, effectively decreasing scale-up volume requirements. This provides for a simple low-cost solution to parallel protein expression microscreening and scale-up in E. coli.

Plasmid (pPL2) yield increased by 60% when deep well microplate (purple) over standard (black) in 500uL culture volumes and 36.4% in 750uL culture volumes. Bacterial cultures were incubated in LB Ampmedia overnight at 37°C with vigorous shaking.

The Baffled Deepwell MicroPlates are made of A1-polished ultra-clear medical grade polypropylene giving high visibility to your samples. Plates are stable from -BOC to 120°C with no degradation or sublimation and have been tested to over 6,000 x g providing a safe and strong environment. Non-sterile plates are certified free from DNase, RNase, DNA and detectable PCR inhibitors and can be sterilized by autoclave.

Customer Comments:

Quick update, we ran 24 samples in the baffled plates using a derivative of BL21DE3 in 650 uL and processed with HTP purification in mini-scale. We over delivered on the client requested target of 10-100 ng with up to 250 ng total.

I dig the plates. They are working well for us. Perhaps it is time to write up a white paper or the like.
