Applications: WB;IHC;IF;ELISA
Reactivity: Human;Mouse;Rat
Source: Rabbit
Dilution: Western Blot: 1/500 - 1/2000. IHC-p: 1:100-300 ELISA: 1/20000. IF 1:100-300 Not yet tested in other applications.
Immunogen: The antiserum was produced against synthesized peptide derived from human Vinculin. AA range:786-835
Storage_stability: -20°C/1 year
Clonality: Polyclonal
Isotype: IgG
Concentration: 1 mg/ml
Observed_band(KD): 123kD
Human_gene_id: 7414
Human_swiss_prot_no: P18206
Subcellular_location: Cell membrane ; Peripheral membrane protein ; Cytoplasmic side . Cell junction, adherens junction . Cell junction, focal adhesion . Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton . Cell membrane, sarcolemma ; Peripheral membrane protein ; Cytoplasmic side . Recruitment to cell-cell junctions occurs in a myosin II-dependent manner. Interaction with CTNNB1 is necessary for its localization to the cell-cell junctions. .
Other_name: VCL; Vinculin; Metavinculin
Background: Vinculin is a cytoskeletal protein associated with cell-cell and cell-matrix junctions, where it is thought to function as one of several interacting proteins involved in anchoring F-actin to the membrane. Defects in VCL are the cause of cardiomyopathy dilated type 1W. Dilated cardiomyopathy is a disorder characterized by ventricular dilation and impaired systolic function, resulting in congestive heart failure and arrhythmia. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene, but the biological validity of some variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008],
