Storage_stability: -20°C/1 year
Clonality: Polyclonal
Isotype: IgG
Concentration: 1 mg/ml
Human_gene_id: 5552
Human_swiss_prot_no: P10124
Subcellular_location: Cytoplasmic granule . Cytolytic granule . Secreted, extracellular space . Golgi apparatus . Found in mast cell granules and in cytoplasmic granules of cytolytic T lymphocytes from where it is secreted upon cell activation (By similarity). Secreted constitutively by endothelial cells and macrophages (PubMed:11154222). Located to Golgi apparatus during neutrophil differentiation (PubMed:15136585). .
Background: This gene encodes a protein best known as a hematopoietic cell granule proteoglycan. Proteoglycans stored in the secretory granules of many hematopoietic cells also contain a protease-resistant peptide core, which may be important for neutralizing hydrolytic enzymes. This encoded protein was found to be associated with the macromolecular complex of granzymes and perforin, which may serve as a mediator of granule-mediated apoptosis. Two transcript variants, only one of them protein-coding, have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2010],
