Immunogen: Synthesized peptide derived from human protein . at AA range: 1230-1310
Storage_stability: -20°C/1 year
Clonality: Polyclonal
Isotype: IgG
Concentration: 1 mg/ml
Observed_band(KD): 382kD
Human_gene_id: 259266
Human_swiss_prot_no: Q8IZT6
Subcellular_location: Cytoplasm . Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton, spindle . Nucleus . The nuclear-cytoplasmic distribution could be regulated by the availability of calmodulin (By similarity). Localizes to spindle poles during mitosis (PubMed:19690332). Associates with microtubule minus ends (By similarity). .
Background: This gene is the human ortholog of the Drosophila melanogaster 'abnormal spindle' gene (asp), which is essential for normal mitotic spindle function in embryonic neuroblasts. Studies in mouse also suggest a role of this gene in mitotic spindle regulation, with a preferential role in regulating neurogenesis. Mutations in this gene are associated with microcephaly primary type 5. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011],
