  • Background: The tyrosine hydroxylase encoded by TH is involved in the conversion of tyrosine to dopamine. Mutations in this gene have been associated with autosomal recessive Segawa syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been noted for this gene.
