Ligand-binding specificity relates to the length of the oligosaccharides, with preference for chitotetraose (in vitro). The SI-CLP protein is up-regulated by IL4\/interleukin-4 and dexamethasone in the macrophages, and is also up-regulated by glucocorticoid.
