Mutations in this gene have been associated withMarfan syndrome,Loeys-Deitz aortic aneurysm syndrome,Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome, and the development of various types of tumors. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been characterized.
