The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. It is involved in cellular processes including cell adhesion and may regulate integrin trafficking and/or function. This protein enhances cell motility, invasion and metastasis of cancer cells. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode the same protein have been described for this gene.
The CD151 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of CD151 protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human CD151 protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards CD151 protein, making it an ideal tool for various research applications.
The CD151 protein is a member of the tetraspanin family of transmembrane proteins that play important roles in cell adhesion, migration, and signaling. CD151 is widely expressed in various tissues and cell types, including epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and immune cells. Dysregulation of CD151 expression has been implicated in various pathological conditions, such as cancer, inflammation, and cardiovascular diseases.
The CD151 Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in various immunoassays, including Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and flow cytometry. This antibody recognizes both the native and denatured forms of CD151 protein, and exhibits minimal cross-reactivity with other tetraspanin family members. The antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, and can be used at a recommended dilution of 1:1000 for Western blotting and 1:200 for immunohistochemistry and flow cytometry.
In summary, the CD151 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and versatile tool for the detection and quantification of CD151 protein in various biological samples. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal reagent for studying the biological functions and pathological roles of CD151 in various research fields.
