The protein encoded by this gene is part of a complex of proteins that constitute adherens junctions (AJs). AJs are necessary for the creation and maintenance of epithelial cell layers by regulating cell growth and adhesion between cells. The encoded protein also anchors the actin cytoskeleton and may be responsible for transmitting the contact inhibition signal that causes cells to stop dividing once the epithelial sheet is complete. Finally, this protein binds to the product of the APC gene, which is mutated in adenomatous polyposis of the colon. Mutations in this gene are a cause of colorectal cancer (CRC), pilomatrixoma (PTR), medulloblastoma (MDB), and ovarian cancer. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
The Catenin-Beta Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of Catenin-Beta protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human Catenin-Beta protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards the target protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.
The Catenin-Beta Polyclonal Antibody is suitable for use in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence assays. It has been validated for use in human, mouse, and rat samples, and has been shown to detect endogenous levels of Catenin-Beta protein in various tissues and cell lines. This antibody is also suitable for use in co-immunoprecipitation and chromatin immunoprecipitation assays, allowing for the study of protein-protein interactions and transcriptional regulation involving Catenin-Beta.
The Catenin-Beta Polyclonal Antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, and is available in various sizes to suit different experimental needs. It is recommended to use this antibody at a dilution of 1:1000 for Western blotting, and 1:200 for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence assays. This antibody is stable for long-term storage at -20°C, and has been quality tested to ensure consistent performance and reproducibility.
In summary, the Catenin-Beta Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and versatile tool for the detection and quantification of Catenin-Beta protein in various biological samples. Its high specificity and sensitivity make it an ideal choice for researchers and clinicians working in the fields of cancer biology, developmental biology, and signal transduction.
