Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a large family of zinc metalloenzymes that catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide.  They participate in a variety of biological processes, including respiration, calcification, acid-base balance, bone resorption, and the formation of aqueous humor, cerebrospinal fluid, saliva, and gastric acid.  They show extensive diversity in tissue distribution and in their subcellular localization.  CA XI is likely a secreted protein, however, radical changes at active site residues completely conserved in CA isozymes with Catalytic activity, make it unlikely that it has carbonic anhydrase activity. It shares properties in common with two other acatalytic CA isoforms, CA VIII and CA X.  CA XI is most abundantly expressed in brain, and may play a general role in the central nervous system.

The CAH11 Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive antibody designed for use in various research applications. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of the human carbonic anhydrase 11 (CAH11) protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody has been purified using protein A affinity chromatography and is suitable for use in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence assays.

The CAH11 Polyclonal Antibody has been extensively validated for its specificity and sensitivity in detecting CAH11 protein expression in various tissues and cell types. This antibody has been shown to recognize a single band of the expected molecular weight in Western blotting analysis of human cell lysates. Additionally, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence staining with this antibody have demonstrated specific staining of CAH11 protein in various tissues, including kidney, liver, and brain.

This antibody is supplied as a liquid in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) with 0.02% sodium azide as a preservative. It is recommended to store the antibody at -20°C for long-term storage and to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The CAH11 Polyclonal Antibody is an excellent tool for studying the expression and function of CAH11 protein in various biological systems and is suitable for use in both basic and clinical research applications.
