This gene encodes a secreted ligand of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) subfamily and TGF-beta (transforming growth factor-beta) superfamily of proteins. Ligands of this family bind various TGF-beta receptors leading to recruitment and activation of SMAD family transcription factors that regulate gene expression. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate each subunit of the disulfide-linked homodimer. This protein signals through the RET receptor and GFR alpha 3 coreceptor, and supports the survival of a number of peripheral neuron populations and at least one population of dopaminergic CNS neurons. This protein has also been shown to promote tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance in mammary carcinoma.
The Artn Polyclonal Antibody is a highly specific and sensitive immunological reagent designed for the detection and quantification of Artn protein in various biological samples. This antibody is produced by immunizing rabbits with a synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of the Artn protein. The resulting polyclonal antibody exhibits high affinity and specificity towards Artn protein, making it an ideal tool for various applications in research and diagnostics.
The Artn Polyclonal Antibody is validated for use in Western blotting, immunohistochemistry, and ELISA assays. It has been shown to detect Artn protein in a variety of tissues and cell types, including brain, heart, lung, kidney, and liver. The antibody is supplied as a purified IgG fraction, which has been affinity-purified from rabbit serum using protein A chromatography. This ensures high purity and minimal cross-reactivity with other proteins.
The Artn Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable and versatile tool for researchers and clinicians working in the fields of neuroscience, cancer biology, and developmental biology. Its high sensitivity and specificity make it an ideal reagent for studying the expression and function of Artn protein in various physiological and pathological contexts. With its excellent performance and consistent quality, the Artn Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable addition to any laboratory's arsenal of immunological reagents.
