Basigin is a glycosylated protein with four known isoforms, of which isoform 2 is the most abundantly expressed. Multiple functions have been ascribed to Basigin; foremost among these is stimulating the secretion of extracellular matrix metalloproteinases by adjacent fibroblasts, a function which has been implicated in promoting tumor progression. Research studies have shown that Basigin is overexpressed by many tumor cells, and its expression level may correlate with tumor malignancy. A recent study identified the BASIGIN gene as a regulatory target of Slug, suggesting a role for Basigin in the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition. Basigin has also been identified as a marker for a subset of highly suppressive regulatory T cells, and as an obligate receptor for the malarial parasite Plasmodium falciparum on human erythrocytes.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"ABCbiolab","offers":[{"title":"100ul \/ Rabbit \/ Human","offer_id":45810663063832,"sku":"ABCBW13179","price":325.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0590\/5652\/1400\/products\/758-7580448_monoclonal-antibody-png-transparent-png_23b27b8c-7dca-4564-8cef-0139593252b6.png?v=1689763164","url":"https:\/\/danabiosci.com\/products\/new-product-285089","provider":"Dana Bioscience","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
