In addition, the encoded protein can catalyze the reverse reaction, the conversion of cortisone to cortisol. Too much cortisol can lead to central obesity, and a particular variation in this gene has been associated with obesity and insulin resistance in children. Mutations in this gene and H6PD (hexose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (glucose 1-dehydrogenase)) are the cause of cortisone reductase deficiency. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.[provided by RefSeq, May 2011],","brand":"ELK Biotechnology","offers":[{"title":"50μL","offer_id":50411337089304,"sku":"ES4290","price":250.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0590\/5652\/1400\/files\/ES4290-c-1.jpg?v=1751080661","url":"https:\/\/danabiosci.com\/products\/es4290","provider":"Dana Bioscience","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
